Like a cocoon in which one comes to snuggle, the Womb armchair embraces its comforting maternal forms. Seen by its designer, Eero Saarinen, as a «basket filled with pillows», who, in 1946, in response to a commission from Florence Knoll, imagined a seat with organic and ergonomic curves. The prototype developed in the early 40s, was even awarded a prize in the «Organic design in furnishing» competition organized by the MOMA. Just try it to understand the extreme comfort provided by this armchair.

The seat is composed of a shell in polyester resin reinforced with fiberglass: a process appreciated from the post-war era, allowing more free and imaginative forms. From the head to the lumbar vertebrae, each part of the body is delicately supported or cushioned. A footrest is also available for rent, in order to prolong the relaxation of the body.

Born of a need to relax in a society bereft of identifiable markers, the Womb armchair retains this principle in all places where it is installed. In the heart of a lounge area, in a private hotel or in a waiting area, it will be appreciated at its true value for a moment of well-being assured.
