Our policy
on sustainable
development

From its very inception, Maison Vachon has been committed to a responsible approach to sustainable development, guided by a single question and purpose: “How can we make design icons accessible to as many people as possible?”

The 3 pillars
of our commitment

Maison Vachon is a family story. But above all, it is a story of passionate men and women, a reflection of our DNA since 1951. From construction sites to the workshop and our offices, each of us plays a vital role in delivering sustainable solutions. Even today, our commitment is based on the three pillars of our business:

Ensuring the well-being of our employees

Use products every day that are kind to nature and people

The Region - Engaging the company and its employees in projects that serve the common good

Decline

Decline

Because the best waste is the kind that doesn't exist

We believe that furniture is meant to last. To be part of a thousand stories. We refuse to let our furniture reach the end of its life before it has had its final say.
To ensure our furniture lasts, we’ve created Dr. Rouiller’s Clinic, a repair and restoration workshop.

Reduce

Reduce

Our motto: “Say no to single-use plastic”

  • Less plastic: Use the right amount, the right way, where it’s needed. Put an end to excessive packaging by training our teams and tailoring our approach to each item.
  • Reducing our use of hazardous products: cleaning supplies and paints. We identify harmful products wherever they are found and replace them with alternatives that are safe for people and the environment.
Réutiliser

Réutiliser

Upcycling is sexy!

  • The Broken-Faced: A line of upcycled furniture made from our own broken-faced pieces. Furniture at a reduced price, but with a big heart.
  • Single-use plastic covers are gradually being replaced by Thivolet covers—custom-made, durable covers crafted from event waste by a sewing workshop that employs people in job-training programs.
Recycle

Recycle

Because zero waste doesn't exist

  • In our workshops, we sort plastic, wood, metal, and cardboard at the source and work with the recycling organization Valdélia to ensure that our furniture is disposed of properly at the end of its life.
  • Collection and recycling of our office waste, including cups, paper, organic waste, and WEEE, by people with disabilities through our partner, Le Cèdre.

Concrete actions
and solidarity

From the great design houses to the nuggets of tomorrow, Maison Vachon collaborates with numerous play partners.
