Created in 2009 by Stéphane Arriubergé and Massimiliano Iorio, the publishing house Moustache has quickly established itself as a bold player in contemporary design. Going against the tide of uniform trends, the French people of Moustache claim a narrative design, imbued with poetry and humor. By focusing on collaborations with emerging or established designers such as Inga Sempé, Ionna Vautrin or Big-Game, the brand cultivates a singular and engaging aesthetic. Its furniture, often sculptural or graphic, invites emotion as much as functionality. We let you judge...
The Gelato chair, designed by the studio Jean-Baptiste Fastrez, stands out as one of the stars of the publisher’s collection. This one diverts the classic codes of furniture by injecting generous volumes and play on textures. Also impossible to miss the Bold chair from Big-Game without turning around. This seat with a tubular silhouette, entirely dressed in foam and fabric, is an iconic piece of the brand. Both playful and ultra-comfortable, it brings a touch of uninhibited design. It only takes one room at the heart of a space, and it is your scenography that comes to life: in yellow, red, orange or electric blue, the bright colors of the model accentuate all the more its original character.
Far from the market constraints related to the ever more pressing demand for novelties and experiences, Moustache prefers to build a perennial domestic universe with high cultural value. It is this desire to produce singular and illuminated objects that allows them to be part of the permanent collections of unmissable museums such as the MoMA in New York, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris or even the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
