Busk + Hertzog: Scandinavian design makes itself at home

Busk + Hertzog: where minimalism meets comfort

At Busk + Hertzog, Scandinavian design is about more than just clean lines. It also plays with volumes, curves and proportions to create furniture that is as pleasing to the eye as it is to use. Founded in Denmark in 2000 by Flemming Busk and Stephan B. Hertzog, the studio quickly made a name for itself on the international design scene.

Their signature style? Sculptural forms, a minimalist aesthetic and inspiration drawn from the lines of nature. The duo favours designs where every detail serves a purpose. This approach has earned them numerous international awards, including the Red Dot Design Awards, the iF Design Awards and the Good Design Awards.

Now based in Lisbon, the studio continues to promote Danish design through its collaborations with several manufacturers, including Softline. At Maison Vachon, three of their creations particularly exemplify this aesthetic: the Havana grey armchair, the Tribeca coffee table and the Boggie end table.

A design that gets straight to the point, yet never lacks personality.

Havana Grey Armchair: comfort takes centre stage

With the Havana Grey Armchair, designed in 2013 and produced bySoftline, Busk + Hertzog have reimagined the high-back armchair with a contemporary twist. Its enveloping silhouette, slender backrest and soft lines give it an instantly recognisable presence.

Winner of the 2014 Interior Innovation Award, Havana perfectly illustrates the duo’s philosophy: to create furniture that combines comfort and character, without an excess of superfluous details. In a lounge area, a showroom or a reception area, it helps to create a more intimate corner. Its high backrest also helps to visually structure the space.

Paired with a side table, it invites you to settle in and enjoy a moment of calm amidst the hustle and bustle.

An armchair with a certain stature. And, above all, one that offers plenty of comfort.

Tribeca coffee table: simplicity with style

With the Tribeca coffee table, produced by Softline, the duo explores another facet of their design: that of simple shapes and balanced proportions. Designed to complement contemporary seating, it adds a graphic touch to an interior without stealing the limelight.

In a common area in the heart of a trade show, an event lounge, reception area or showroom, it naturally takes its place at the centre of a lounge arrangement. Its understated aesthetic means it can be paired with different styles of sofas and armchairs to create harmonious and welcoming spaces.

Proof that a coffee table doesn’t need to be over the top to find its place.

Boggie side table: small in size, big on possibilities

With the Boggie side table, also produced by Softline, Busk + Hertzog demonstrate that small pieces of furniture have their own importance too. Easy to incorporate into a lounge area, it complements armchairs and sofas whilst providing a practical extra surface.

It can hold a lamp, a few decorative items or simply be placed next to a seat to complete the look. At an event, these discreet pieces help to make spaces more functional and pleasant to be in.

Small in size, but certainly not in usefulness.

Why choose Busk + Hertzog furniture for an event?

Through their designs, Busk + Hertzog offer an interpretation of Scandinavian design where clean lines meet more expressive forms. The Havana grey armchair helps to create comfortable and intimate spaces, whilst the Tribeca coffee table and the Boggie end table complement the décor with understated elegance. These pieces are particularly well-suited to lounge areas, showrooms, trade fairs and corporate events.

Their contemporary aesthetic makes them easy to combine with other decorative styles, whether wooden or metal furniture, or warmer textiles. Renting Busk + Hertzog furniture therefore allows you to create elegant, functional and welcoming spaces.

Because Scandinavian design also knows how to put guests at ease.
