For Jesús and Jon Gasca, design is a family affair. Father and son share the same ambition: to create furniture that is aesthetic, functional and built to last. Born in 1939 in San Sebastián, Spain, Jesús Gasca trained as an engineer before founding the STUA brand with Marina Quevedo in 1983. His aim? To design contemporary furniture with simple lines, yet where every detail is the result of careful technical consideration.
His son, Jon Gasca, born in 1967, trained as an industrial engineer at the University of Navarre. He joined the family business and went on to develop his own designs for STUA, where he now serves as creative director.
Their shared signature style? A minimalist design, ingenious forms and a constant quest for balance between aesthetics and functionality. Inspired by modernism and Scandinavian design, their creations retain a Mediterranean sensibility, where gentle curves and materials come together naturally.
This philosophy is part of a ‘slow design’ approach: creating timeless pieces, designed to stand the test of time rather than follow trends. At Maison Vachon, the nube, eclipse and onda collections exemplify this approach to contemporary furniture.
With Jesús and Jon Gasca, design is passed down from one generation to the next. And they’re never short of ideas.
With the Nube armchair, designed in 2007 for STUA, Jesús and Jon Gasca play with geometric contrasts. Its name means ‘cloud’ in Spanish – a reference to its enveloping seat, which seems to float within a structure defined by straight lines.
The armchair combines a geometric exterior with a generously curved interior. Its discreet metal base reinforces this impression of lightness. But the Nube’s real strength lies in its ability to be combined with other armchairs. Arranged side by side, back to back or around a coffee table, several models allow you to create original configurations tailored to any space.
At Maison Vachon, the Nube armchair is available in several finishes: beige, beige and brown, yellow, green, blue, purple, fuchsia and orange. This colour palette allows you to create everything from understated atmospheres to colourful and dynamic displays. Whether in a showroom, a lounge area, a reception or a trade fair, the Nube brings a distinct visual identity.
An armchair with its head in the clouds. But with its feet firmly planted in design.
With
the Eclipse collection, Jon Gasca reinterprets the concept of
nesting tables in a contemporary and organic style. Inspired by forms found in nature, the tables are characterised by their rounded tops and slender metal legs.
What makes them special? Different dimensions and heights that allow them to be stacked, nested or arranged freely. A composition that evokes the phenomenon of an eclipse, when shapes gradually overlap.
Produced by STUA, the Eclipse tables are available at Maison Vachon in several sizes, from XS to L, and in various finishes: white, light wood and dark wood. They can be used on their own as side tables or combined to create a striking ensemble at the centre of a lounge area. Their soft shapes complement the ‘Nube’ armchairs particularly well, but also pair beautifully with other contemporary seating.
Tables that nest, stack and reinvent themselves. Design is certainly anything but static.
With the Onda stool, Jesús Gasca demonstrates that the simplest lines can conceal a genuine focus on comfort. Produced by STUA, this stool stands out for its ergonomically curved seat, designed to naturally mould to the shape of the body. Its design combines a sleek silhouette with a lightweight metal frame, striking a balance between comfort and modernity.
At Maison Vachon, the Onda stool is available in white and black. It fits perfectly around a counter, in a bar area, on an exhibition stand or in a reception area. Its understated silhouette allows it to blend seamlessly into contemporary settings, whilst adding a touch of design flair.
A stool that follows the curves. And one that never loses sight of comfort.
Jesús and Jon Gasca’s furniture offers a particularly appealing feature for events: it combines a distinctive aesthetic with great flexibility in layout. The Nube armchairs allow you to create welcoming lounge areas, with a variety of colour combinations and configurations.
The ‘Eclipse’ coffee tables offer the ideal modularity to complement these spaces, whilst the ‘Onda’ stools provide an elegant solution for bars, counters and social areas. Their designs are equally suited to corporate events, showrooms, trade fairs and VIP areas.
Renting furniture by Jesús and Jon Gasca therefore enables you to design functional, warm and contemporary interiors, where every piece contributes to the overall harmony. Because well-designed furniture does more than simply occupy space; it gives it meaning.
At Maison Vachon, we love creations that combine personality, comfort and freedom of arrangement. With the ‘Nube’ armchairs, ‘Eclipse’ coffee tables and ‘Onda’ stools, produced by STUA, Jesús and Jon Gasca offer contemporary furniture that adapts to a variety of event settings.
Available to hire from Maison Vachon, these creations enable you to create lounge areas, showrooms, exhibition stands or reception spaces where design complements functionality. These pieces prioritise clean lines, ingenuity and an aesthetic designed to stand the test of time.
With Jesús and Jon Gasca, design is a family affair. And above all, a story of great ideas.
