Born in 1967 in Helsinki, Finland, Jukka Setälä studied interior architecture and furniture design at the Helsinki University of Art and Design, graduating in 1996.
He then set up his own design practice, exploring both furniture and lighting. His philosophy is based on a simple idea: to create useful, durable objects suited to new lifestyles. In 1998, he conceived an oversized, supple seat without a rigid frame, capable of adapting naturally to the body’s movements.
