Driade was founded in 1968 in Piacenta, Italy, by Enrico Astori, his sister Antonia and his wife Adelaide. It offers cult designs for modern indoor and outdoor public spaces. Its style, tinged with Baroque touches, has given new impetus to furniture design in Italy. As for his furniture, it is distinguished by a strong visual impact reinforced by its originality. Each piece is generally made from environmentally-friendly, recyclable plastics.
The Italian company collaborates with renowned international designers, well known in the world of artistic creation. These include Ron Arad and his atypically styled Clover chair. But also Philippe Starck and his
Monseigneur range, comprising several seating formats: armchairs, sofas, ottomans. In 2007, it was Starck with whom the brand celebrated their long creative union, which has linked them since 1984.
Driade has also collaborated with other famous Italian designers. Fabio Novembre, the brand's artistic director, offered his famous
Nemo armchair, recognizable by its face shape. It's a remarkable
masterpiece, featured for example in the successful Lupin series.
Other notable collaborations include Giuseppe Chigiotti and his Hoff sofa, and Rodolfo Dordoni and the Hall sofa. Their work with these great designers has enabled Driade to offer a wide range of products to satisfy the desires of their customers.
