AN ICONIC EDITOR OF FRENCH DESIGN

Founded in 1860 in Ain, the company Ligne Roset began by producing wooden canes for umbrellas, before reinventing itself in contemporary furniture at the turn of the 1950s, when these ladies turned away from the object. Craftsmen at heart, the leaders reconvert their wood lathe to design legs and chair bars, before moving on to the complete manufacture of the product. One thing leading to another, the company Roset designs its first upholstered seats in 1936 and develops on the market of collectivities from the 50s.

But it was really in the 1970s that the brand took a decisive turn, with the ambition of new generations to become a high-end design publisher, especially for private clients.

By collaborating with renowned designers such as Michel Ducaroy, Ligne Roset quickly established itself as a key figure in French furniture. The Roset style is avant-garde elegance and sculptural lines, combined with generous comfort. Always produced in France, each piece embodies a demanding craftsmanship and an assumed creative audacity.

ICONIC PIECES

Ligne Roset is at the origin of many leading furniture models. The Togo sofa and armchair by Michel Ducaroy remain undeniably icons of the brand, with a great return in recent years. Yet they do not overshadow the Ploum sofa, designed by the brothers Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec as an ode to comfort thanks to its embossed texture: an effect made possible by the specific combination of two ingenious materials, a stretch coating and a hyper-flexible foam. With its quilted appearance, it offers a very soft and enveloping touch. A real piece both design and generous!

This furniture embodies the vision of design according to Ligne Roset: bold, comfortable, and always resolutely elegant. The brand thus hopes to be a symbol of the French art de vivre, by creating not furniture, but a true universe of well-being and aesthetics. For Michel Roset, "A seat or a piece of furniture Ligne Roset is always more than wood and foam."
