The publishing house Muuto was founded in 2008 by Peter Bonnén and Kristian Byrge in Denmark. Straight from the Scandinavian countries, Muuto comes from the Finnish word "muutos" which means "new perspective". The innovative approach to design of the Danish brand earns its recognition for its vast collection of furniture, which includes chairs, tables and sofas but also lamps and contemporary accessories.
A fervent representative of the Danish tradition, Muuto nevertheless has a new perspective on Scandinavian design. Indeed, the brand collaborates with both emerging and established designers, such as Anderssen & Voll. It is moreover them who created the Outline Sofa cream for the publisher. The latter is part of a series of elegant and refined sofas, seats and armchairs among which we find the range of Sofa Rest 2 Places and Rest 3 Places.
Another noteworthy collaboration, the one with designer Mika Tolvaven that will give birth to the Visu chair: a model entirely in wood, with sober typical Scandinavian design. It’s not for nothing that in French, 'Visu' means 'précision'. The Danish designer Cecilie Manz, for her part, will join forces with the editor to create the
Airy coffee table, which is associated with the
sofa end of the same name. There too, attention is paid to the details and staging of an aerial silhouette.

Most of the publisher’s furniture comes in many modern, soft and natural shades. Today recognized, Muuto is a Danish brand that embodies the new wave of Nordic design: a sleek style, neat and functional, sublimated by a resolutely contemporary vision.
