Ferruccio Laviani: Italian design shines a light on style!

Ferruccio Laviani: the art of reinventing the classics

For Ferruccio Laviani, light is much more than just a matter of lighting. It is a veritable playground where styles, forms and materials come together. Born in 1960 in Cremona, Italy, Ferruccio Laviani studied at the Milan Polytechnic School of Design, before graduating with a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Milano in 1986. After collaborating with Michele De Lucchi, he founded his own studio in Milan in 1991.

His signature style? A bold blend of classical inspirations, Baroque references and contemporary materials. An approach that transforms everyday objects into true decorative pieces. As artistic director of Kartell since 1991, Ferruccio Laviani has developed, in collaboration with the Italian manufacturer, designs that have become iconic in contemporary design. Among them, the Bourgie, Kabuki, Tati and Téa lamps, available to hire from Maison Vachon, showcase the full richness of his creative world.

With Ferruccio Laviani, light does more than simply illuminate. It catches everyone’s eye.

The Bourgie Lamp: Baroque has never been so modern

With the Bourgie Lamp, created in 2004 for Kartell, Ferruccio Laviani reinterprets the conventions of classic lighting with a generous dose of boldness. Its richly crafted base evokes Baroque candlesticks, whilst its pleated shade is reminiscent of traditional lamps. But here, plastic replaces traditional materials: crafted from polycarbonate, Bourgie plays with transparency, reflections and colours.

At Maison Vachon, the Bourgie lamp is available in several finishes: crystal, black, chrome, fuchsia, turquoise, gold and copper. This variety allows it to be incorporated into a wide range of interior styles, from a contemporary living room to a more sophisticated reception area. Placed on a console table, a side table or in a VIP area, it instantly adds a touch of elegance and whimsy.

One foot in the Baroque era, the other in modernity. And plenty of style in between.

Kabuki Lamp: when light plays with transparency

With the Kabuki Lamp, Ferruccio Laviani explores the possibilities offered by contemporary materials and manufacturing technologies. Produced by Kartell, it stands out for its openwork structure, whose patterns evoke delicate lace. Created using an injection-moulding technique, it combines a sculptural silhouette with a soft, graphic light diffusion. At Maison Vachon, the collection is available in several forms: the Kabuki lamp in white or black, as well as the Kabuki floor lamp in transparent, white or black.

This variety of formats allows you to create lighting atmospheres suited to different spaces. In a showroom, a lounge area or a reception, Kabuki becomes a true design feature, capable of enhancing a space even when switched off.

A lamp that certainly makes a statement. And one that knows exactly how to play with shadows.

The Tati Lamp: geometry with character

With the Tati Lamp, Ferruccio Laviani offers a more architectural take on contemporary lighting. Designed for Kartell, this table lamp stands out for its geometric shapes and interplay of volumes. Its design combines a transparent rectangular structure with an internal diffuser, creating a subtle contrast between visual lightness and decorative presence. Its minimalist aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly into both contemporary and more classic interiors.

At Maison Vachon, the Tati Lamp finds its natural place on a console table, a temporary executive desk, a reception table or in a lounge area. It adds an elegant touch of light without overwhelming the décor.

A lamp that masters the art of geometry. And the art of making a discreet statement.

The Téa Lamp: where light becomes poetry

With the Téa Lamp, Ferruccio Laviani explores a more organic and delicate aesthetic. Produced by Kartell, this table lamp stands out for its irregular curves and textured surface, evoking flower petals or two protective hands letting light escape. Its sculptural silhouette transforms a functional object into a true decorative piece. Made from recycled thermoplastic technopolymer, Téa also reflects Kartell’s research into materials incorporating recycled content.

At Maison Vachon, it can be used to create an intimate atmosphere on a side table, a console table or in a reception area. Its soft light and unique aesthetic make it an interesting element for interior designs where lighting plays a key role in creating the atmosphere.

A lamp that does more than simply diffuse light. It gives it form.

Why choose Ferruccio Laviani lighting for an event?

Ferruccio Laviani’s designs offer a real asset for events: they transform the atmosphere of a space whilst establishing a distinctive decorative identity. The Bourgie lamp adds a baroque and sophisticated touch, whilst Kabuki plays with textures and shadows to create a more sculptural ambience.

The Tati Lamp captivates with its clean, geometric lines, whilst Téa introduces a more organic and poetic dimension. These four distinct styles cater to a variety of needs: lighting a lounge area, enhancing a showroom, creating a VIP atmosphere or adding a decorative touch to a reception.

Hiring Ferruccio Laviani lighting fixtures thus enables you to incorporate iconic Italian design creations into contemporary settings, where every light source contributes to the guests’ experience.

Because beautiful lighting doesn’t just change the light. It changes the whole atmosphere.
